Tenet: Apparently I've been doing a lot of "watching" this past week! I've been on a Christopher Nolan fix and saw a newer movie of his, Tenet, but couldn't wrap my head around the plot, and the soundtrack was a bit
anxiety-inducing for me.
"On the 13th, I'm hosting a "galentine's day" dinner based on this Parks and Rec scene. (btw - Leslie Knope is my spirit animal). While I don't have time to make mosaics of their faces with the crushed bottles of their favorite sodas, I will be making them dinner. And I instructed everyone to come prepared with a story about love...big love, small love, passing love and anything in between.
I also have a tradition with my midwestern gentleman.
Every year I make him linguine with clam sauce on Valentine's Day. We only ever eat it on Valentine's Day so it makes it feel special, and I usually make him an inappropriate card. We eat by candlelight. And he's not allowed to buy me flowers because they are absurdly expensive this time of year. I love flowers but only when they are an unexpected surprise. It's our romantic tradition for less than $20!"
"This year, we may be struggling to find creative ways to show our love for one another. Something that really resonated with me was a gift idea from Brian Tracy. Instead of giving traditional Valentine's Day gifts, we can express how much we appreciate our partners by creating a list of reasons why we are grateful they are in our lives.
We can promise to continue this list by writing down a new reason every day of the year. Then, when Valentine's Day 2022 rolls around, you'll have a gift that's ready to go and contains 365 reasons why you are grateful for your significant other."
"My wife and I have never been much for big celebrations and lavish gifts, but it would certainly be nice to get away for Valentine's Day this year. However...we've been trying to be as careful as possible during the pandemic, so our celebration may be limited to giving the kids some extra iPad time while we watch a movie or TV show and eat takeout! The getaway will have to a wait a while longer."

"My partner and I are planning on having a simple high tea at home. And maybe going through our Downton Abbey cookbook for recipes to try out."
